Application for Naturalization
We request it from uscis.gov the moment you open it and we keep no copy. That is why we cannot hand you a stale edition: what you see is what USCIS is publishing right now.
It will be saved as n-400-ed-01-20-25.pdf
The form is USCIS material — public information that may be copied and distributed. The official page for this form is its record on uscis.gov (opens the official site in a new tab)

$50 discount online. To request the reduced fee or the waiver you must file on paper. There is no Premium Processing for the N-400. The old Form I-942 was discontinued: the reduced fee is requested inside the N-400.
Two levels of relief: a reduced fee of $380 (paper only) if documented household income does not exceed 400% of the federal poverty guidelines; and a full waiver ($0) with Form I-912.
By mail you pay by card (Form G-1450) or by debit from a U.S. bank account (Form G-1650). USCIS no longer accepts checks, money orders or cashier's checks on paper, unless you request the exception with Form G-1651.
